President Inaugurates Mandhu College

Informatics is proud and honored to be invited as a guest and speaker for the inauguration ceremony of our licensee in Maldives, Mandhu College whom we signed on as our partner earlier this year. Attending the event on behalf of Informatics International was Mr. Amos Lee, Assistant Director who also had the opportunity to address the President, Ministers and guests of the event.
The event was graced by President Mohamed Nasheed who inaugurated Mandhu College on 8th December 2009. Speaking at the inauguration function held at Mandhu College, the President stressed the role of education in the development of a society. He said that for a country to develop, it was important for its people’s thinking to develop too.
The President said that the government’s education policies were centred on higher education institutes. He further said that the government could not do everything by itself and stressed the importance of increased participation of private sector in implementing government’s developmental programs. In addition, he said opening of Mandhu College is proof of the viability and sustainability of this vital change.
President Nasheed said he is heartened by the widening opportunities of higher education in the country and colleges and other institutes of learning will be an important element and success of higher education in the Maldives.
In this aspect, as an international education provider, Informatics is proud to partner with Mandhu College and be able to contribute to this growing demand of providing good quality education to the increasing student and youth population in Maldives in the areas of Business and Information Technology.
We strongly believe and have great confidence in our partner, Mr. Ibrahim Ismail, Ibra, a veteran parliamentarian and politician who established the college in 1988 and his team of dedicated staff in their service to providing quality education will be able to achieve success in meeting the needs of the Government and the people of Maldives.

Informatics Established Collaboration with NEXT Institute of Management in Sri Lanka!

Informatics is pround to announce the accreditation of a new partner centre in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The NEXT Institute of Management has been accredited to deliver the International Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Business Administration.
NEXT Institute of Management is an integral part of NEXT School of Business, which provides first class post graduate and under graduate training and education. NEXT School of Business was set up by a group of professionals who are holding senior management positions in the Corporate Sector and who have common passion of empowering young executives with the knowledge, skills and competences required for career advancement and personal development.
NEXT School of Business occupies a state of the art, 5 storied, fully air-conditioned facility at Havelock Road, Colombo, with multiple lecture halls with a capacity of 100 participants each and a cafeteria. The library & computer laboratory will be available for the use by students in the near future.
Informatics is delighted that NEXT Institute of Management has introduced the International Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Business Administration into their portfolio and looks forward to a productive and continued relationship with the centre.

Informatics International Welcomes our New Partners in June
July 2009
In the month of June 2009, we have successfully signed a 3-year licensing agreement with the Edvance Learning to offer our suite of International Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas and Postgraduate Diplomas in India.
Through Edvance Learning, Informatics courses will be delivered in Pune, Maharashtra, with the first batch of students embarking on their studies by September 2009.
In addition, we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that within the next 2 years, there will be additional institutes in the metro cities of Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore that will be offering our range of programmes in the Business and IT disciplines.

The University Computing Centre of University of Dar es Salaam is Informatics’
First Accredited Partner Centre in Tanzania!

Informatics is pleased to announce the successful accreditation of its first partner centre in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The University Computing Centre (UCC) has been accredited to deliver the Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology awarded by Informatics Academy.
Established on 1st July 1970, The University of Dar es Salaam is the oldest and biggest public university in Tanzania. It is situated on the western side of the city of Dar es Salaam, occupying 1,625 acres on the observation hill, 13 kilometers from the city centre.
The UCC is the ICT arm of the University of Dar es Salaam providing not only ICT Products and Services but also conducting training and educational programmes in a number of ICT disciplines to the University, community in Tanzania and elsewhere in the world.
Informatics is delighted that UCC will be launching the Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology in September 2009. We are positive towards the collaboration between Informatics and UCC and we look forward to a successful relationship in the coming future.

Meeting with the Minister and Staff of the Ministry of Communications, Science, & Technology, Tanzania
30 June 2009

On 30 June 2009, Informatics was invited by the Minister of Communications, Science and Technology, - Hon. Prof. Peter M. Msolla to discuss on how Informatics can play a role in promoting ICT in Tanzania through the Ministry.
Informatics was represented by Mr. Toe Oo Zaw, our Academic Quality Manager and he was warmly welcomed by the Minister and his team of officials. During the session, Mr. Toe did a corporate presentation about Informatics and shared with them on our core competencies in the areas of education and training especially in the ICT disciplines.
Informatics and the Ministry also discussed on possible collaborations in the offering of our cutting edge IT related programmes such as Mobile Engineering, Biometrics & E-Commerce Security and Forensics Computing in Tanzania.
We are excited to develop these collaborations and are confident that in the near future, the people of Tanzania will have the opportunity to pursue Informatics programmes locally and be part of our global network of students.
In addition, we would like to thank the team of officials that met up with us for their kind hospitality and we definitely look forward to hosting them in Singapore. |

Informatics records a full year profit of $4.4 million

For the 4th quarter ended 31 March 2009, the Group recorded a net profit after tax of $7.05 million compared to a net profit after tax of $0.05 million last year. As a result, the Group recorded a full-year net profit of $4.4 million compared to a net loss of $3.6 million last year.
The significant improvement in the bottom line resulted mainly from a strong performance in the 4th quarter of FY2009, favourable movements in cost provisions ($6.9 million), lower assets depreciation ($0.8 million) and a reduction in operating expenses ($4.9 million).
For the year, however, the Group registered a revenue of $43.6 million, 9% down from $47.9 million in the previous year.
The deficit in shareholders fund also improved significantly, reducing from $4.8 million last year to $0.6 million. Given that the Group has $26 million in cash and no borrowings; the board is of the opinion that the Group should be able to weather the challenges ahead.
The global economic condition has deteriorated and recovery is uncertain. However, the Group has launched a number of new courses and has a strong programme development pipeline for the current and coming years. These new programmes would broaden the offering of the group and create the impetus for growth. In addition, the group has expanded its international business into a number of new markets and segments. |

Informatics Accredits Its First Partner Centre in Maldives

Informatics is pleased to announce the accreditation of its first partner centre in Male, Maldives. The Mandhu Learning Centre (MLC) has been accredited to deliver the Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Information Technology, and International Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Business Administration.
The Mandhu Learning Centre is one of the leading learning institutes in the Maldives. It was established in 1998 to provide equal learning opportunities for everyone in Maldives.
Informatics is delighted that MLC has introduced the Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Information Technology, and International Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Business Administration into their portfolio and looks forward to a productive and continued relationship with the centre.
