About the Programme

Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Computing and Information Technology degree is conferred to all candidates who have successfully completed and satisfied the University of Wales' requirements for the award of the degree.

This programme is a specialist programme for students interested in the area of database and systems development. It provides the student with in-depth knowledge of the technologies and methods for the creation and maintenance of computing systems that support business data handling requirements of organisations. It allows the student to create and manage effective Information Technology systems as solution to business issues and concerns.

It aims to provide graduates with the necessary analytical, business and computing skills combined with knowledge of Information Technology to function effectively in the development and management of the high quality business computing and information systems within organisations.

This programme is validated by the University of Wales which is highly regarded for its international validation operation. It enables overseas institutions to offer the University of Wales degree at an equivalent standard to the degree offered on-campus at the university.


Programme Objectives

This programme aims to provide the students with the knowledge and to develop the students with the skills on the application of computing in the modern business environment. The Business Computing and Information Technology programme is focusing on the application of Information Technology. The graduates from the programme would be able to work effectively as software engineers, network administrators and knowledge engineers. These jobs are of great demand in the industry in Singapore. In addition, the graduates from the Computer Science programme would be able to perform in the area of research and development of new software products, which is needed in software and multimedia industry, and the graduates from Business Computing and Information Technology would be able to manage effectively the information needed for today¡¯s e-business environment.

  • Other equivalent qualifications deemed suitable by University of Wales

Programme Structure and Duration
Intake: January / May / September
Duration: Full Time : Minimum of 16 months
Part Time: Minimum of 24 months
Programme Delivery:

Day / Evening classes taught by lecturers with industry-experience

Method of Assessment:
  • Common Stage: Pure course work based
  • Specialised Stage: Course work plus Exam for every module except PJ330
