Myanmar Thingyan 2009

This was an exciting day for our Informatics Myanmar Fellowship - Myanmar student society as they gather to celebrate the Myanmar Thingyan Festival at our auditorium.
Main objectives of the event were:

• To gather all Myanmar students and alumni of Informatics to celebrate the festival
• To invite students of diffferent nationalities to come share the spirit of the Myanmar
   New Year
• To create an opportunity for the Myanmar community in Singapore to join in the
   celebration at Informatics

Students put up cultural performances while celebrity singers from Yangon such as Big Bag (popular punk band), Ya Tha (popular hip-pop singer), Jenny (popular Pop and R&B singer), Khin Phone (popular female pop singer) and Ringo (popular solo artist) hyped up the celebration with their live performances.

Not to forget, the fun from the water splashing activities at our car park area and the delicious Myanmar food and snacks sold at food stores set up near the auditorium.

It was indeed an exciting and unforgettable experience for all participants.
