Informatics Myanmar Fellowship
5 February 2009

For each new course intake, the Informatics Myanmar Fellowship (IMF) will organise a gathering party to welcome new Myanmar students to join the Informatics family.

Similarly for the new intake in January 2009, the IMF hosted a Fresher Welcome Gathering Party at East Coast Park on 5th February 2009.

The buzz started a week before the actual event, where a brief introduction to IMF and registration for participation was conducted at the school campus.

It was the Chinese New Year period; the event organisers had difficulties with the barbeque pit booking due to overwhelming response. Still, they managed to get one at the eleventh hour.

Hooray! Off to East Coast Park they went!

Among all, there were current Myanmar students, students from the alumni and of course, not forgetting our new Myanmar students who came from another corner of the world. Even Myanmar friends from other schools joined in the fun!

After some ice breaking activities, the IMF leaders conducted fun games that encourage group participations among the Myanmar participants. The highlight of the day was the IMF King and Queen Contest that everyone gets to vote for their favourite friend.

The fun and laughter lasted till the evening, when a sumptuous dinner was served.

Throughout the bus journey home, the girls sang songs while the boys played the guitars.

It was a day full of great fun, great company and great food!
